The daily challenge and the tale card
When you play Nile’s End on your own, every game is a slightly different world. That is nice, but it leaves a question with no answer: did I play well, or was I lucky? The daily challenge is there to answer it.
One world for everyone
From the start screen, tap Daily challenge. That day, every player plays the same world: the same places, the same weather, the same events on the road. The khamsin that hits on day 3 of your game hits day 3 of your friend’s. And tomorrow morning there is a new world. Your best result of the day is kept on your phone.
One life
The daily challenge is always in survival mode: no story, and death is the end. If you die, the saved game is erased. There is no checkpoint to go back to.
The idea is that one world and one life mean whoever lives longest that day played better, not luckier. Who found water first? Who refused to walk into the contaminated area? Who slept in a town instead of out in the open? You all start from the same place.
The tale card
When a survivor dies, the game does not just say “game over”. It paints a card with their story: how many days they lived, what killed them, how far they walked, how much they searched and made, how many fights they won and how many places they saw.
The card is a ready-made picture. You can send it from your phone to any app, WhatsApp, Facebook or another, or save it as a picture. It asks one thing: “Can you survive longer?”
Using them together
The plan is simple: play the daily challenge, and when you die, send the card to a friend. They play the same day in the same world, and you find out who lasted longer, and why.
If you are new, start with story mode: the game shows tips that teach the basics, and if you die you go back to the last time you slept. Once you are used to it, try the challenge. And there is a guide if you would rather read first.
